The Saint Who Taught the World How to Think

Born into nobility in 1225, Thomas Aquinas shocked his family by rejecting wealth and power to join the Dominican Order - a life devoted to poverty, prayer, and truth.

Known for his quiet humility and deep intellect, Thomas was once mocked as the “Dumb Ox.”

Saint Albert the Great famously replied:

“This ox will one day fill the world with his bellowing.”

And he did.

Saint Thomas Aquinas:

  • United philosophy and theology without compromising faith
  • Defended Christian truth using reason, logic, and Scripture
  • Showed that all truth ultimately leads to God

His work remains foundational to Catholic teaching nearly 800 years later.

Why Saint Thomas Aquinas Matters Today

Truth Still Needs Defenders

We live in an age of confusion - where truth is treated as opinion and feelings replace reason.

Saint Thomas Aquinas reminds us:

  • Truth is objective and knowable
  • Faith does not fear questions
  • Reason, when ordered rightly, leads us closer to God

Today’s world struggles with:

  • Moral relativism
  • Attacks on faith and reason
  • Confusion about God, humanity, and purpose

Saint Thomas stands as a beacon:
Clear mind.
Humble heart.
Unshakable truth.

Creator of all things, true source of light and wisdom,
origin of all being, graciously let a ray of Your brilliance
penetrate into the darkness of my understanding…

Pray it before study.
Pray it in moments of confusion.
