Saint Monica

Persistent Prayer. Faithful Mother. Hope Through Tears.

Saint Monica is one of the Church’s most beloved examples of perseverance, prayer, and trust in God. Through years of sorrow, uncertainty, and waiting, she remained steadfast in faith and never stopped praying for those she loved.

Her life reminds us that God hears every prayer, even when answers seem delayed. Today, countless Catholics turn to Saint Monica for hope when carrying burdens for family members, children, and loved ones who have wandered from the faith.

Who is Saint Monica?

Saint Monica was born in North Africa and became known for her deep faith and unwavering devotion to God. She endured many hardships within her family, including a difficult marriage and years of concern for her son, Augustine.

Sacred tradition remembers Saint Monica as:

  • A devoted Christian mother
  • A woman of constant prayer
  • A model of patience during suffering

  • The mother of Saint Augustine
