Who is Saint Paul?

Saint Paul was born Saul of Tarsus and was raised as a devout Jew. Initially, he opposed the early Christian movement and participated in efforts to persecute followers of Jesus.

Everything changed on the road to Damascus when Christ appeared to him in a powerful encounter. Through this moment of grace, Saul became Paul and devoted the rest of his life to proclaiming the Gospel.

Paul traveled throughout the Roman world, establishing Christian communities and encouraging believers through preaching and letters. Many of his writings became part of the New Testament and continue to guide the Church today. Tradition teaches that he was martyred in Rome for his faith in Jesus Christ.

Sacred tradition remembers Saint Paul as:

  • A persecutor transformed by grace
  • The Apostle to the Gentiles
  • A tireless missionary and evangelist
  • A writer of inspired New Testament letters
  • A martyr who gave his life for Christ

Why Saint Paul Matters Today

Courageously Sharing Christ in a Confused World

Today, people face:

  • Spiritual indifference and apathy
  • Feelings of guilt over past mistakes

Saint Paul reminds us:

  • God’s grace can transform every life
  • The Gospel is worth proclaiming boldly
  • Faith requires perseverance through trials
  • Christ can redeem even our darkest past

The same Lord who transformed Paul continues to transform lives today.
